Compassionate Inquiry®

“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others.

Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval.

Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.”

― Lao Tzu

Welcome to my therapy practice. I have been working with people for over 30 years to help them explore and gain new insights for growth and wellbeing.

I love the words of A.H. Almaas. These words aptly describe the purpose of psychotherapy.

“Your conflicts, all the difficult things, the problematic situations in your life are not chance or haphazard. They are actually yours. They are specifically yours, designed specifically for you by a part of you that loves you more than anything else. The part of you that loves you more than anything else has created roadblocks to lead you to yourself. You are not going in the right direction unless there is something pricking you in the side, telling you, “Look here! This way!” That part of you loves you so much that it doesn’t want you to lose the chance. It will go to extreme measures to wake you up, it will make you suffer greatly if you don’t listen. What else can it do? That is its purpose.”

For years I have had difficulties in creating healthy boundaries with my family. When things became too toxic I made one of the hardest decisions in my life. I completely disconnected. I realized a year after that I needed professional help. Sara created a safe, trusting and non judgmental environment where I could really open up to myself and to her. Since starting to work with Sara, I learned about my triggers, and now I can avoid them. I learned that I can change ’the blue print’ in my mind and create new ways of reacting and responding in stressful situations.

I started working with Sara a short time after I experienced several traumatic events. Sara is a compassionate and warm presence with a true sense of clarity. She was able to guide me to a place of centeredness and safety that I felt I could not access because of my trauma.

Sara’s gentle inquiries and validations created a safe place for me to finally just talk about things that happened. I have gained a sense of understanding and compassion for myself that I always have with me and will be forever grateful for.
