~ A.H. Almaas

Do you carry sadness and fear from your childhood?  Perhaps your family was not a safe haven for you. Perhaps you were bullied or labelled as a child at school. Maybe there was no-one safe for you to talk to as you navigated your way into your teenage and adult years. People with this history often have difficulty forming and sustaining intimate relationships. This can make for a deep feeling of loneliness in the world – a feeling that you just don’t fit.

As someone who has lived with trauma, it is important for you to know that you are not alone. And trauma takes many forms. It does not mean that you were physically or sexually harmed. It may mean that you were simply dismissed as a child by people who did not know how to meet your emotional needs. So please know that no trauma is small. No-one has the right to minimize or dismiss your childhood experience.

If you work with me, you will learn about how your past has created a future that may have served you well to survive as a child, but may not entirely serve you today. We will work together to unravel your trauma to open the door to a more healthy, fulfilling and connected life where you can be authentically you.

Working with Sara has helped me identify and take responsibility for my trauma response habits. These habits were born out of surviving childhood trauma that were unconsciously carried into adulthood.

What I appreciate about working with Sara is that I feel heard because she is intentional with her word choices to make sure concepts or feedback are delivered in a way that I can receive, reflect on and process in my heart and through my body. I am grateful that Sara honours and shares her gift of holding sacred space with me for it allows me to take a step (even if it’s a micro-step) to coming home to me.
